Over the past several years my Grandma Helene crocheted over 150 afghans for the Department of Child and Family Services to give comfort to children who were being placed in foster care. Even though she wasn't able to get around very much, due to her health, she was able to make these wonderful gifts of the heart for children she loved even though she had never met them. She passed away several months ago, and Quilted by Heart is my way of carrying on the legacy she began.
